Good, Bold, and Some Original Business Ideas Presented by UAV Students

Good, bold ideas—some original, others less so but highlighted through original business concepts—were presented at the "Entrepreneurship Workshop" within the Summer School of UAV, 2024 edition, held at Moneasa.

The event, organized by "Aurel Vlaicu" University of Arad under the aegis of the Student Entrepreneurship Society of UAV, the Arad County Council through the Arad County Cultural Center, and the Edu4Future Association, was funded by the Arad County Council through the Arad County Cultural Center.

A total of 16 student teams (over 50 students involved) from "Aurel Vlaicu" University of Arad (Faculty of Economic Sciences, Faculty of Food Engineering, Tourism, and Environmental Protection, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Educational Sciences, Psychology, and Social Work) and the University of Life Sciences "King Mihai I" from Timișoara participated in the event.

In the final, 7 teams qualified with equal points and presented their business ideas before a jury composed of entrepreneurs and academic staff.

The prizes were awarded to the following teams:

• 1st Place: The team consisting of Cătană Oana Maria and Olar Andreea Nicoleta from the Faculty of Economic Sciences, UAV, for EDU SMART KIDS.
• 2nd Place: Volungan Daniela Valentina, Kiss Sebastian, Dumitrean Bogdan Mihai, and Neagoe Viorel Daniel, from the Faculty of Economic Sciences, UAV, for the RENOVA concept.
• 3rd Place: Aszodi Elena Raluca, Igna Eduard Călin, Sandru Rebeca Mihaela, and Gîrna Naomi Tabita, from the Faculty of Economic Sciences, UAV, for the business concept MOMENTS – a photo-video service.

A special mention was awarded to the team of Rusu Andrei, Ardeljan Andrej, Balint Alin, and Nicola Dario – Cătălin, from the University of Life Sciences "King Mihai I" of Timișoara, with the idea of two complementary businesses – two distinct cafés: Traditional Brew – "Preserving Authenticity!" and SmartSip – "Where Technology Meets Taste."

Other teams that participated in the final included members from the Faculty of Food Engineering, Tourism, and Environmental Protection – Ilonca Ioana Loredana, Oneț Raul Alin, Florescu Paola, and Chiș Roberta, and the team of Stanciu Corina, Cojocaru Viviana, and Cernea Alexia from the Faculty of Economic Sciences.

The winning teams received gift cards from the Edu4Future Association, motivational and entrepreneurship books from the Autonom Foundation, as well as two-week subscriptions to CrossFit Arad.

The award ceremony was attended by Cristina Nicolaescu, Vice-Rector of "Aurel Vlaicu" University of Arad, Grigorie Sanda, Dean of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Monica Ocnean, President of the Student Entrepreneurship Society at the University of Life Sciences "King Mihai I" from Timișoara, representatives from other UAV faculties, members of the UAV Student Entrepreneurship Society, students, and master’s students.

At the same venue in Moneasa, students also had the opportunity to meet business representatives and successful entrepreneurs with whom they had interesting discussions. These entrepreneurs also presented their businesses in an interactive way. Presentations were made by: Alin Ghenghe – Regional Director of SC Autonom SRL, Florin Turcaș and Cătălin Dobrescu – Entrepreneurs, Roberto Cerantola – Director of SC Daiconi SRL, Nicoleta Balașiu – Entrepreneur at SC Squash SRL, Lorena Iovănuț – Entrepreneur at SC Delor Icorp SRL, and Mădălina Blaga – Entrepreneur at SC Educamp Social SRL.
