AVU starts the 2021-2022 academic year
10/5/2021The opening of the new academic year will take place on Monday, 4th of October and it will not comprise of a single large event but several smaller ones. Each faculty will host its own meeting with freshmen students in accord with the safety measures imposed by the pandemic and the schedule made available on the university`s webpage and Facebook page as to better cater for the health of students, teaching and administrative staff members.
A special event for AVU`s academic community will be the unveiling of the plaque dedicated to the university`s first rector, Prof. PhD. Radu Homescu. The event will commence at 10.00 at the university`s headquarters situated on Bdul Revolutiei no. 72, which henceforth will bear the name of the distinguished professor who dedicated his entire life to the development and the promotion of Arad`s public university.
„AVU`s management decided that this year`s opening ceremony to be dedicated to this personality who has left a profound mark on our university’s history. The event will be joined by representatives of the local authorities who have continuously provided support to local higher education. The start of the new academic year will pay homage to those who have played an essential role in the becoming of Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad” declared AVU`s rector, Ramona Lile.
