On October 16, the Faculty of Economic Sciences at UAV organized a conference, workshop, roundtable, and a poster competition for students in celebration of Global Ethics Day. Business ethics, social ethics, and ethics as a philosophical concept were the main themes of the event, bringing together professors and students in a constructive dialogue on the ethical challenges facing contemporary society.
Attendees included UAV Vice-Rector, Professor Dr. Dana Copolovici, the leadership of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Adrian Rareș Ciuce, President of CECCAR Arad, CECCAR Executive Director Nicolae Micle, as well as faculty members, students, master’s, and doctoral students from the faculty.
The special guest was Professor Dr. Ștefan Dominic Georgescu from the Academy of Economic Studies and the “Constantin Rădulescu-Motru” Institute of Philosophy and Psychology of the Romanian Academy, who delivered a lecture titled “Ethics in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: A Fundamental Philosophical Approach.”
The event was part of the GLOBAL ETHICS DAY project, supported by the Arad Municipal Cultural Center and coordinated by Associate Professor Dr. Maria Sinaci, a faculty member. Global Ethics Day, an annual event initiated by the Carnegie Council for International Affairs in 2014, aims to enhance the role of ethics in society through the actions of citizens, businesses, professional organizations, educational institutions, governments, and nonprofits.
