Ramona Lile: "It was an honor to be partners in the Truth as a Condition for Regional Stability conference”
5/26/2023"Aurel Vlaicu" University of Arad hosted over the weekend the "Truth as a Condition of Regional Stability," international conference organized by the Institute for Geopolitical Studies in Ljubljana.
Experts from Romania, USA, Israel, Germany, Serbia, France, Slovenia, and Japan discussed the situation in the Balkans during the First World War, the suffering of Serbs in Sarajevo from 1991 to 1995, as well as the topic of the Srebrenica Massacre (July 1995).
The following presented papers: Bozidar Panici (Romania), Mile Bjelajac (Serbia), Bogdan Levy (Slovenia), Raphael Israeli (Israel), Darko Tanasković (Serbia), Patrick Barriot (France), Gideon Greif (Israel), Steven Meyer (USA), Markus Goldbach (Germany), Marija Durić (Serbia), and Yuki Osa (Japan).
One of the most prominent figures present at the conference was Prof. PhD. Steven Meyer (USA), former Deputy Director of the CIA Balkan Task Force (BTF) during the Bosnia and Herzegovina war (1992-1995).
"It was an honor for us to be partners in this conference. I believe it is a good starting point for future projects that we wish to carry out together with the Institute for Geopolitical Studies in Ljubljana, with whom our university has established a partnership," declared Rector Ramona Lile.
"This conference has opened the way for new discussions and future collaborations with the academic community. It is just a small step towards a better future. We would like to thank the university for its support and involvement, and we hope to return here, to Arad, to the university," stated the conference organizer, Prof. PhD. Bogdan Vukosavljevic.
