Teaching mobility
DETAILS CONCERNING THE ACADEMIC STAFF
This type of programme affords academic staff members with the opportunity to teach in an EU institution of higher education for a period ranging between 2 days – at least 8 hours of effective teaching – and 2 months. A minimum duration of 5 days is highly recommended.
Academic staff members are selected by a university level Selection Committee, based on the priorities for the relevant academic year and the available funding. The application file must include:
- Curriculum Vitae
- Letter of Motivation (that is to include the proposed teaching plan as well as the reasoning behind choosing a particular university)
- A Certificate of linguistic competence
- Staff agreement for teaching
- Certificate of Attendance or certificate issued by the host institution
- Travel order form , signed and stamped by the host institution
- A final, online EU report concerning the teaching mobility
In order to successfully complete a mobility programme – as approved by AVU`s Erasmus Charter-, the participant shall receive European Commission assigned financial aid for all transportation and living related costs.
An Erasmus+ grant does not cover all mobility related expenses; it only represents a contribution towards covering living and travel expenses. All candidates are to be informed about the necessity to co-finance part of the incurred expenses.
Erasmus+ grant values differ according to the host country, as follows:
Destination country | Staff mobility (Euros/day) |
Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Island, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg, UK, Norway, Sweden | 180 |
Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Greece, Germany, France, Italy, Malta, Holland, Portugal, Spain | 160 |
Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, FYRO Macedonia, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Turkey | 140 |
Erasmus+ grant values for travelling costs differ according to the distance between the host country and the applicant`s residence as follows:
Distance | Amount |
Between 10 and 99 km | 20 EUR per participant |
Between 100 and 499 km | 180 EUR per participant |
Between 500 and 1999 km | 275 EUR per participant |
Between 2000 and 2999 km | 360 EUR per participant |
Between 3000 and 3999 km | 530 EUR per participant |
Between 4000 and 7999 km | 820 EUR per participant |
8000 km or more | 1500 EUR per participant |
The distance between the applicant`s country of origin and the host country is determined with the aid of the European Commission provided Distance Calculator (link: http://ec.europa.eu/programmes/erasmus-plus/tools/distance_en.htm)
The ERASMUS grant is wired into the participant`s account (which must be in Euros and operated by BRD) as follows:
- the first instalment (80% of the total grant) before the start of the mobility programme
-the second instalment (20% of the total grant) upon return from the mobility programme and filling out an EU online questionnaire.
Before departure, each academic staff member shall submit his/her Teaching Programme (signed and stamped by both AVU and host university representatives) in order for the travel order form and the financial contract to be finalized. Within 5 days from his/her return, the academic staff member shall submit the following documents:
- A Certificate of Attendance or a document issued by the host university attesting to the programme participation
- A travel order carrying the host institution`s signature and stamp
