The UAV Football Team Represents Romania at the European University Football Championship
7/4/2024The "Aurel Vlaicu" University of Arad football team, winners of the National University Championship, will compete alongside 15 other teams from across Europe for the title of European University Football Champion. The competition will take place from July 11 to 18 in Debrecen and Miskolc, Hungary.
The UAV team, representing Romania, will depart for Debrecen on July 9, where they will hold their first official training session on July 10. During this session, they will learn which group they belong to and who their first opponent will be.
According to the tournament's regulations, the top two teams from each of the four groups will advance to the quarterfinals, while the bottom two teams will compete for final rankings.
"We can only wish the best of luck to the team and once again tell them how proud we are of their qualification for the European University Championship. We hope they win as many matches as possible and rank high in the final standings. And who knows, we are all cheering for them to make it to the final," said UAV rector Teodor Cilan.
