Hundreds of students at the "Caius Iacob" contest organized by UAV

The 14th edition of the "Caius Iacob" Mathematics and Informatics Competition organized by the Faculty of Exact Sciences of the "Aurel Vlaicu" University in Arad gathered almost 300 students from 21 high schools in the counties of Arad, Timiș, Hunedoara , Caraș Severin, as well as a group of students from Serbia.

High school students (classes IX-XII) competed in mathematics and computer science tests.

90 prizes were awarded, mentions to those who obtained the best results in the 4 sections: mathematical technique, mathematical reasoning, programming and ICT. Prize-winning students are admitted with a grade of 10 to any of the faculty's programs.

The subjects were developed by 13 high school teachers together with the teaching staff of the Faculty of Exact Sciences within the UAV.

Students, pre-university teachers, UAV teaching staff were present at the awards ceremony.

"It is a traditional event of the Faculty of Exact Sciences that has created a strong collaborative relationship with the pre-university environment over the past 14 years. We are happy with the increasing number of participants, the involvement of teachers as well as the very good level of training of the competitors.
And, as every year, we invite all participants to continue their training in this field at our faculty where they will benefit from the expertise of our teaching staff, a modern material base and all the other facilities that UAV students enjoy" , said the rector of UAV, Teodor Cilan.
