Stating with the year 2002, “Aurel Vlaicu” University has acquired state of the art equipment that allows for the printing process to be extremely quick; in practical terms, a 300-400-page book is finished within 4 days. The printing shop located in Building M operates special IT equipment and editing software in addition to all the specialized machinery required. Besides printing books and coursebooks (in A4, A5, B5 formats) we also offer printing services for flyers, booklets, advertising materials, bussiens cards etc., using the highest quality materials available.
Means of distribution, marketing and dissemination
For dissemination and recognition, AVU Publishing House participates in book exhibitions in Bucharest, Cluj Napoca, Timisoara, Arad, as well as other university centres.
The prints published under the logo of the AVU Publishing House are distributed free of charge to “Cornelia Bodea” Central University Library, the National Library of the Republic of Moldova, as well as “A. D. Xenopol” County Library from Arad. Obviously, in exchange for the ISBN, a package with 7-9 copies for the legal book deposit is sent to the National Library of Romania.
Because the publishing house does not have its own bookstore, the distribution of books and journals is carried out through exchanges with other publishing houses, libraries or multiplication centres, book donations to different libraries and personal endeavours of the authors. Works co-published with other publishing houses - such as Basilica, Universitaria, Agnos, Risoprint, etc. - are found in the distribution network of those publishing houses.
We mention that some of the books published by AVU Publishing House can be found in the offer of some important bookstores / online marketing platforms, such as amazon.com.
The online exhibition of the works published by AVU Publishing House is also essential in disseminating the studies of AVU teachers and researchers, as well as AVU collaborators in the country and abroad. These works figure in online catalogues of maximum visibility, such as: www.worldcat.org, www.academia.edu, www.books.google.ro, www.uav.ro.
